Fort Goff Campground (NFS) Hwy 96










Name of Campground: Fort Goff
This small, but beautiful campground is located right on the Klamath River near beaches and Class 2 and 3 rapids.



Elevation: Approximately 1,300 ft.
Number of Campsites: 5 Walk-in only.
Parking is adjacent to camp area and adjacent to Hwy 96.
Day use: Available
Affiliation: National Forest Campground Klamath National Forest ~ Happy Camp Ranger District
Open Dates: Most sites within Klamath National Forest are open from mid-May through mid-October. Some sites may be available with reduced services.

Campsites are on first come basis.

Please note: Drinking water is not available, pack garbage out.

General Description: Campground is in forested area adjacent to Hiway 96 and at water's edge of the Klamath River. Shaded area in trees. Undergrowth dry in mid to late summer. Wildlife may include black bears, deer, mountain lions, birds of prey. Poison oak may be in the area.

Services: Nearby store for basic supplies at Seiad Valley or Happy Camp. Major supplies available in Yreka on I-5. Automobile fuel services may be available in Happy Camp at card lock station. Nearest Hospital: Yreka, however ambulance service is located in Happy Camp.

Directions from Yreka: Follow Main Street out of town going North (also known as Hwy 263, Hwy 3, and old Hwy 99). Follow the Shasta River until the road intersects Hwy 96 (about 7 miles). Turn west and follow the Klamath River on Hwy 96 approximately 60 miles. Once you pass Seiad Valley (very small town) travel about 5 miles west and look for the campground on the river side of the road.

Location/address: Located on Hiway 96 about 5 miles west of the small town of Seiad Valley. Approximately 10+ miles east of the town of Happy Camp.
